Meaning of the acronym and the ESG agenda
The abbreviation ESG, which stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, encompasses a set of practices designed to guide companies towards more sustainable actions.
The term first appeared in a project led by the UN (United Nations) in 2004, with the participation of financial institutions from nine countries, including Brazil. The publication, titled “Who Cares Wins,” was developed with the aim of establishing guidelines for companies to better incorporate environmental, social, and governance issues.
Since then, these themes have gained significant relevance in the corporate world and in companies’ strategic planning.
Building an ESG agenda means defining the necessary steps to achieve business sustainability, an increasingly important requirement in the market.
Tuper aligns with the ESG agenda by carrying out a series of initiatives. It maintains programs related to sustainability and the environment, such as the use of clean energy in its manufacturing units. There’s also the Tuper Attitudes program, Zero Carbon, waste reuse, recycling programs, and many others. Additionally, the company implements initiatives focused on inclusion, diversity, community engagement, a grievance channel, and support for social causes and philanthropic organizations.
