The Brazilian Association of Equipment and Mobile Asset Lessors (ALEC) is organizing a series of events focused on the equipment rental sector for the construction industry in various Brazilian cities, under the name “Alugar Regional – Equipment Lessors Meeting.”
The proposal is to promote the exchange of experiences among industry professionals, foster business opportunities, expand the network of contacts, and facilitate the formation of partnerships among participants, primarily companies involved in renting construction equipment and items. Additionally, the goal is to provide insights into market trends and decisions that directly impact profitability, maintenance, and better investments in equipment rental.
A Quick Industry Overview
The construction equipment rental sector has seen significant growth in recent years. According to ALEC, the current market scenario in Brazil is promising for equipment rental. The organization reports that the sector experienced substantial growth from 2020 to 2022, aligning with the construction industry, which saw a 17.7% increase compared to the national economy’s 8.2% growth during the same period. ALEC estimates a 4% growth for the light construction equipment rental sector in 2023.
ALEC also estimates that there are approximately 20,000 equipment rental companies in Brazil, specifically in the light equipment segment. In recent years, many new companies have emerged, creating over 210,000 jobs in the industry, indicating a thriving market.
