Joinville Vôlei claimed the title of the Santa Catarina Volleyball Championship for the second time this Sunday (09/15). The decisive match was against the Blumenau team and took place at the Centreventos Cau Hansen court, in the city of Joinville (SC, Brazil).
The team received great support from the fans, who braved the cold and rain to attend and cheer. With set scores of 25/23, 25/17, and 25/2, the team won the match 3 sets to 0.
Previously, on Saturday (09/14), Joinville Vôlei had also defeated the Lajes team, again with a 3-0 win, with set scores of 25/19, 25/15, and 25/16.
About the match
Continuing their winning streak, the team led by coach Rubinho (Roberley Leonaldo) and presided over by Giovane Gávio, a former two-time Olympic champion and four-time World League champion, shone on the court. On their way to the title, they achieved six victories in six matches, all by 3 sets to 0.
In Sunday’s match, outside hitter Djalma was named the standout player, while setter Rhendrick was chosen as the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the tournament.
The team will return to the court after a short rest on Wednesday (09/18), focusing on the Sicredi Joinville Volleyball Cup. The matches will also take place at Centreventos Cau Hansen, from September 25 to 29, and will serve as preparation for the Superliga, which starts in the last week of October.
